Social Media Return on Investment

Wanted to share this video of compiled statistics on social media marketing that various companies have implemented, and the ROI that resulted (results from Ebay to Burger King).

Obviously social media marketing is important, but if these facts are true, it’s pretty remarkable, especially considering the low cost of these types of campaigns.

Most interesting is the Barack Obama online donation figures, Dell selling 3 Mill of computers on Twitter, and that 25% of Ford Motor’s Marketing is Digital/Social Media.

Also interesting to note is that the video states that “only 18% of traditional TV campaigns generate a positive ROI.” This is believable since most of the commercials I watch (even the interesting ones) I couldn’t tell you what they were selling.

Probably the only TV commercials I remember are “stay thirsty my friends” and Old Spice Swagger Body Wash (these are amazing!!!)

The video is a selling point for Erik Qualman’s book SocialNomics, from his blog Socialnomics.com / Socialnomics.net

The book made the Amazon # 1 Best Selling List only 3 weeks after it was published. For more on Erik click HERE.
